Multi-Domain CMS with Flash Video Content Delivery System

Client Needs Analysis:

Citybuzz needed a solution to manage their rapidly growing web presence. With their customer base spreading to numerous sites, Citybuzz required 25 sites to start and then additional sites for every city whose market they entered. They also required a portal site which will list all City specific sites.

The amount of material on each site required multiple categories and subcategories followed by articles with reviews of various cities along with pastimes, culinary critiques, and much more. Each category required the ability to display crisp streaming video inline with featured advertising videos to name just a few required features. The cost of creating individual sites, each with their own Content Management System (CMS) would have been cost prohibitive and lacked the ability to make global changes which would result in future additional expenses and headaches.

Solution:

Binarian Studios developed a solution which provided maximum scalability and ease of use for both users and for Citybuzz personnel. Using ASP.NET and a number of other technologies, Binarian Studios created a custom portal and CMS which would allow Citybuzz to have an entirely new site up literally in a matter of minutes without Citybuzz ever having to see a line of code or contacting us. Simply register the domain, point it to our servers, add content and make it live.

For content management, Binarian Studios created a custom web based application. A new Citybuzz site can now be added starting with domain name, graphics and unique color palette, followed by categories and subcategories, articles with full in-line WYSIWYG functionality and dynamic media management, video ads, and Streaming Flash Media.

To reduce costly per clip conversion and encoding fees, Binarian Studios created a system which allows a video editor to simply drop a video file into a folder then our transcoding server converts it to Flash Video, enters it into a list from which Citybuzz content managers can directly add the video into any category they want. At this point the video can be made "live" by a content editor.

The entire Citybuzz portal can be modified in-line, similar to a Wiki, without the need to learn a new interface. Administrators and content managers may browse the site just like the end user, but when logged in as an admin, they can edit and add information. An advanced permissions system also allows administrators to assign editors and content managers to specific domains.

Calvary Automation Systems is a leading manufacturer of special machines, turnkey automated systems, and specialized fixturing for major automobile manufacturers and other companies. Binarian Studios was brought on to create a new website to enhance Calvary Automation's online presence and to develop a content management system for personnel to update text and images within the site.

Binarian Studios also created and implemented a web based industrial collaboration system for Calvauto to improve workflow between Calvauto and their clients, complete with a camera feed for clients to watch in progress shots of their project being assembled by engineers on the floor. Also implemented was an on-site schedule based streaming media server for plasma screens in their lobby and halls with general and industry programmable video content.

Nesquik required a speedy mapping of their entire Flash application to make key decisions in
Within a weeks time Binarian had to map the entire Flash Application without any documentation or contact with the original developers.

Solution:
Binarian's expert Flash developers were able to look through thousands of files, lines of code and flash graphics and put together a coherent workflow model and diagram as well as documentation of over 200 key files within the application within a deadline that could be described only as "unrealistic" by all other companies approached for the project.
   
Rich Internet Application with Multi-Domain CMS

Operating from 32 locations around the nation, Resun Corporation, located in Dulles, Virginia provides modular office buildings and shelter for disaster recovery and is business that can require updating information in the blink of an eye.

Binarian Studios worked with Resun to refresh their brand and create a custom Flash Rich Internet Application with full flash content management system which allows Resun to create full web sites or update large amounts of content on the fly without ever touching a line of code. All data is stored in a central database and communicates with the Flash Rich Internet Application.

During Hurricane Katrina, Binarian Studios provided an in depth multi-camapign Google AdWords and Overture program which resulted in hundreds of leads for Resun and quick disaster recovery aid for Hurrican Katrina Victims.
